HistoryThe Lundy ship, produced in 1908 in Beverley, England, is a fishing vessel owned by the Hull Steam Fishing & Ice Company before the war. The ship, equipped with a Smith brand engine, measures 33.6 x 6.5 meters. Although it was used for civilian purposes before the Gallipoli Campaign, it was seized when the war broke out and assigned to mine-sweeping duties in Gallipoli. On August 16, 1915, while loading ammunition, it collided with a ship named Kalyan that was trying to escape Turkish artillery fire, sustaining damage and sinking. The ship, located at a depth of 27 meters, retains its integrity except for the damage at the stern that caused it to sink.
