History
The Tuzla Steamer, built in 1885 by Barcley, Curle and Co. Clydeholm, is a side-wheel vessel that transported wounded soldiers, ammunition, and supplies to the Gallipoli Front. Formerly known as the Worthing Belle, the steamer was purchased by the Åžirket-i Hayriye in 1913 for passenger transportation and renamed Tuzla. The vessel measures 65*5 meters and weighs 193 tons.

During the battles at the Gallipoli Front, AkbaÅŸ Port served as the main supply base, receiving ships from the Sea of Marmara. The ammunition and supplies from the anchored ships were transported from the port to the front. Wounded soldiers arriving from the front were also sent to hospitals established in Istanbul via these ships from this pier. The Tuzla Steamer was torpedoed and sunk on August 30 after loading its cargo at AkbaÅŸ Port.

Diving Equipment Information:
The equipment to be used for diving includes items that are part of the basic gear used in equipped dives: mask, fins, weights, buoyancy vest, diving tank, wetsuit (3-5 mm depending on the season), regulator, gloves, and a 7 mm neoprene suit for the November-March season, as well as semi-dry or dry suits. Diving can also be conducted with this equipment at the historical underwater park in Gallipoli.
